About

This is what I do.

Professional

Technologist. Entrepreneur. Enthused by cloud architecture, DevOps, distributed systems, infosec, privacy, and SRE.

The Past

Over twenty years of experience including server administration, DevOps, CI/CD, full stack and mobile development.

In 1996, Mike and a partner founded the company that would eventually become WebHosting.Com. Started from their dorm room at Montreal's McGill University, WebHosting.Com went from startup to one of the biggest hosting companies in the world in a few short years. Mike's software development and leadership was the foundation of WebHosting.Com's technical systems, and ran the hosting infrastructure of major clients such as Bell Canada, KPN, Telecom New Zealand, PCCW, AT&T, Comcast, and Cox Communications.

Mike hand wrote what would become one of the web hosting industry's first client facing "control panels". It was not pretty, but it was a game changer.

The Present

Mike currently enjoys working on both small and large scale projects for companies of all sizes as a consultant through amazing agencies like POWERSHiFTER and Digital Contractor.

Personal

When not in front of his laptop, Mike can usually be found at the local rink, or outdoors on his bike(s) or running.

Sport

2x Ironman finisher and fervent practitioner of the "float/hammer/jog" philosophy.

Beer league legend in my own mind.

Food/Drink

Aspiring wine geek, lover of craft beer.
